The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have arrived and after months of speculation we’ve finally seen how they look and what they have inside. This weekend we could at last buy Apple’s latest iPhone as it was opening weekend. If you’re curious about the opening weekend sales and numbers we’ve got two words that encapsulate the situation best: pure madness!
Apple fans are used to waiting in line for hours if not days just so they can be the first ones in the world to have the latest devices from their favorite tech company, but with the launch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, things have gotten a little out of hand.
Frank Brandt showed up with his blanket in hand and supplies on Thursday at a Verizon Wireless store, so he could be the first one to buy the new iPhone 6: I simply cannot resist it. The new iPhone 6 is amazing and I need to have it.
On September 12, Apple opened pre-orders for their iPhones and 4 million people signed up for a new iPhone in the first 24 hours. That’s something quite amazing and it breaks every record of its kind. With so many orders, some customers are going to have to wait until November to get their hands on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Ross Rubin, principal analyst at Reticle Research, believes that Apple had the biggest weekend ever, if they’re able to keep up with stock:
Consumers are clearly responding to pent-up demand for a bigger screen. Despite Samsung’s insistence that the next big thing was already here in its Galaxy Note, many iPhone users would rather wait than switch.
Where you among the people to stay in line so that you could get a hold of Apple’s new flagship phone? Are you planning to buy the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
